Kenilworth Elementary School needs to stay open because the children in this community do not have another public school close enough to where they live other than Houston and Neval Thomas and with the bullying problem that's already happening this consolidating proposal is a bad idea.My solution would be for parents,councilmembers,schoolboardmembers,community leaders,Chancellor Henderson teachers and students to have a serious dialouge and every one should have their say and all of us should do every thing we can to keep as many of the proposed school closings from happening. If these proposal go forward I believe that it will only deter many students that are already at risk to consider dropping out altogether and parents who want to keep their children in the public school system being left with no other alternative other than charter schools and that would not be a good thing in my opinion.We love the staff at Kenilworth Elementary and I know that every school does not have perfect teachers but I feel in my opinion that they are making a difference with the students who are currently enrolled there including my 10 year old nephew who has done well since he has been enrolled there and it would be a shame for him and all the other students not to be able to continue their education there.So in closing I sincerely hope that something can be agreed upon to keep kenilworth open.
